According to the FAA’s own website, they have a Diversity and Inclusion hiring policy to ensure the hiring of individuals with a “severe intellectual disability”.
The PDF copy of their website page with that statement is below.
It should be noted that this policy does not seem to state what roles these individuals would have within the FAA. It’s likely that they would not be pilots. It’s also likely that there are still strict requirements on eligibility for particular roles within the FAA regardless of any disability.
