Nikki Haley said she was inspired to run for office because of a Furman Institute program she attended in which Hillary Clinton was a speaker.
There are many clips of her out there from this interview, which take her comments out of context, and appear to suggest she endorses Hillary’s political views, which she has said she does not.
However, according to Nikki Haley, it was Hillary Clinton who inspired her to actually run for office. Her quote is below.
“You know I often say that the reason that I got into politics — believe it or not, I don’t agree with anything that she has to say — but was because of Hillary Clinton. I was at a Furman Institute event for women. And she was the one that said, for all the reasons people tell you you shouldn’t run, those are the reasons you should. And I walked out of there and decided to run for the state house.”
