In a press conference video dated November 13, 2023, NY Governor Kathy Hochul said that they are collecting data from surveillance efforts on social media regarding hate speech.
“We’re very focused on the data we’re collecting from surveillance efforts. What’s being said on social media platforms. … When we see hate speech being spoken about on online platforms.”
She also specifically mentioned “incitement to violence” and “direct threats to others”.
