On July 4, 2023, the official twitter account for Ben & Jerry’s (@benandjerrys), posted a tweet regarding how the US exists on stolen indigenous land, and that we as a country should commit to returning it (complete tweet below).

Ben & Jerry’s Headquarters is in Vermont, and is located in a business park in southern Burlington, a city on the eastern bank of Lake Champlain.

The exact address is:

1281 Waterbury-Stowe Road
Waterbury, VT 05676

A map provided by Native Land Digital (a Canadian non-profit which documents historic territorial claims of Native American tribes), shows the area which they claim historically belongs to the Abenaki.

This location of the Ben & Jerry’s Headquarters combined with the information on the provided map, place their headquarters on Abenaki land (indicated by the blue area).

It is important to note that Ben & Jerry’s Headquarters is not on any modern day tribal lands, and that the Abenaki land is not federally recognized.
