On the 28th of March, Andrea Chavez (the federal deputy of Ciudad Juarez) released a statement regarding a fire which broke out in a migrant facility located along the US-Mexico border across from El Paso, Texas (the migrant facility was not located in the US). The fire started some time after 9PM local time. The authorities said that they believe the fire was started by some of the migrants after they found out that they were going to be deported. Additional reporting also suggested that the migrants were being mistreated and not being provided access to drinking water in a timely fashion, as well as the migrant center placing more migrants in cells, than the cells were designed to hold.
